What the credential actually means.
Most marketing certifications are paper — a quiz, a badge, a LinkedIn line. The Reffed Academy Certified Operator credential is something different.
60-day capstone
Not a quiz. You run a complete GEO engagement with a real client — yours, a friend's business, or one we help arrange. The work is reviewed before you pass.
Honest assessment
Methodology adherence, execution quality, results documentation, written communication. Scored 1-10 across each. Pass threshold is 28 of 40, not perfection.
Operator Directory
On pass, you're listed at reffed.ai/academy/operators with your niche, location, and case study. Prospective clients browse the directory — most operators see inbound leads within 60 days.
A portfolio piece
The capstone documentation becomes a published case study you can show prospective clients. Real engagement, real before-and-after, real numbers — not theoretical demos.
30% recurring on referrals
Certified operators are auto-eligible for the standard Reffed affiliate program — 30% recurring commission for 12 months on every Reffed customer you refer. Most operators recommend Reffed Watch to clients anyway.
Private operators network
Operators-only Discord with weekly office hours for 90 days from start, plus ongoing peer collaboration. Early access to new Reffed features and methodology updates as AI engines evolve.
Quickstart, plus four modules on the operator business.
Certification includes the full Quickstart curriculum (26 lessons across 6 modules) plus four advanced modules that turn execution skill into a service business. Plus the 60-day capstone.
Everything in Quickstart
Modules 1 through 6 of Quickstart are the methodology foundation: Foundations Plus, Schema and Technical GEO, Content That Gets Cited, Off-Page GEO, Tracking and Measurement, Your 90-Day Action Plan. You execute this on your own business first.
The GEO service business
Five lessons on building the practice. Why GEO as a service works now and the 18-24 month first-mover window. Niching down — the seven highest-demand niches and how to pick yours. Pricing models with honest benchmarks. Client acquisition across the five channels that work. The sales conversation, including the audit-first close.
Client deliverables
Four lessons on the artifacts clients pay for. The onboarding audit and custom SWOT presentation. Monthly client reports in the five-card format. Quarterly strategy reviews with the QBR framework. Client handoff and case study packets.
Operating like a pro
Three lessons on running the practice. Systems and workflows — the 12-SOP library that scales beyond solo. Pricing adjustments and rate raises without losing clients. Scaling without burning out: when to hire, when to subcontract, when to productize, when to stay solo.
The certification capstone
A real engagement with a real client. Complete a GEO audit, build a 90-day strategy, implement at least five recommended changes, track Reffed metrics for 30 days, submit the final case study. Reviewed across four dimensions before passing. About 15-20 hours of focused work across 60 days.
How the capstone is assessed.
Each dimension is scored 1-10 by a Reffed Academy reviewer. Passing requires 28 of 40 across all four. You see your scores plus written feedback — not just a pass/fail flag.
Methodology adherence
Did you apply the Quickstart methodology correctly? Schema implementations, content structure, off-page work — did the engagement reflect the frameworks rather than shortcut around them?
Execution quality
Were the changes you shipped done well? Reviewers check the actual implementations — schema validates, content reads cleanly, on-page changes are properly deployed.
Results documentation
Did you measure honestly? Reffed score deltas, citation appearance changes, traffic patterns — documented clearly and contextualized. Reviewers look for honest measurement, not curated wins.
Written communication
Can you present GEO work to a client coherently? The case study writeup is reviewed for clarity, structure, and the kind of clean explanation that prospective clients read and trust.

Built for two paths.
Certification is the bridge from "I can do GEO" to "I sell GEO." If neither path describes you, Quickstart alone is probably the right stop.
Going solo
You've been doing marketing or SEO for years. You want to launch your own GEO practice. You need the methodology plus the business mechanics — pricing, client acquisition, deliverables, retention. You leave with a case study and a directory listing.
Adding to your agency
Your agency is launching GEO as a billable service line. You need certified senior practitioners. Multi-seat pricing available for teams of three or more — each seat earns its own credential through individual capstone work.

Certification questions.
What does Certification cost?
Certification is a one-time payment of $747 founding price (going to $997 retail once founding seats fill). No subscriptions, no recurring fees. You pay once and get lifetime access to all course material plus the credential and 60-day capstone review.
Founding-member pricing is $250 below retail. Once founding seats fill, the price moves to $997 — your founding price is locked even after the increase.
What's the difference between Quickstart and Certification?
Quickstart ($197, 26 lessons) teaches you to execute GEO on your own business. Certification ($997, Quickstart plus 12 advanced lessons and a 60-day capstone) teaches you to deliver GEO as a service to clients.
You graduate Certification with the credential, an Operator Directory listing, and a real case study to show prospective clients.
What's the capstone project?
A 60-day engagement with a real client — yours, a friend's business, or one we help arrange. You run a complete GEO audit, build a 90-day strategy, implement at least five recommended changes, track results in Reffed for 30 days, and submit a final case study.
Reviewed across four dimensions: methodology adherence, execution quality, results documentation, written communication. Passing earns the credential.
What if my capstone client doesn't see results in 60 days?
Results aren't the pass criterion. Methodology and execution quality are. AI engine citation gains typically take 90 to 180 days of consistent work.
We don't penalize operators when honest implementation work hasn't compounded yet. We're testing whether you can run a real GEO engagement competently, not whether you can perform miracles in 60 days.
When does Certification launch?
Certification is live now and accepting cohort enrollment. The 12 advanced lessons across Modules 7-9 unlock immediately on purchase. The 60-day capstone runs on your schedule.
First cohort graduates with credentials on a rolling basis once capstones are submitted and reviewed. Most operators finish 90-100 days end to end.
Do I need to complete Quickstart first?
Yes. Certification assumes you can execute GEO competently — Quickstart teaches that. Quickstart's 26 lessons and templates are the foundation everything in Certification builds on.
The two are designed as a sequence, not parallel paths.
What's the time commitment?
About 12 hours of content (the 12 advanced lessons plus Module 7-9 business mechanics), plus 60 days of capstone work — typically 15 to 20 hours of focused work spread across the 8 weeks.
Weekly office hours are available for 90 days from start. Most operators finish in 90-100 days end to end.
What happens when I pass?
You earn the Reffed Academy Certified GEO Operator credential, a public listing on the Operator Directory at reffed.ai/academy/operators (drives inbound client leads), invitation to the private operators community, early access to Reffed product updates, and eligibility for the standard 30 percent recurring affiliate program.
The credential plus the case study from your capstone is the foundation for billing $3,000 to $15,000 per month on retainer.
What if I don't pass?
Two options. If your methodology was sound but documentation was thin, we mark you Revise and Resubmit — you have 30 days to address the gaps and resubmit.
If the engagement was genuinely incomplete, you can re-attempt with a new capstone client at no additional cost within 6 months. We don't lock people out for honest work that needed more time.
What's the refund policy?
30-day money-back guarantee before the capstone phase begins. Once you start the capstone with a real client, refunds are no longer possible — the work involves a third party and can't be undone.
If you're not sure, take Quickstart first ($197 with a 14-day refund), apply it for 90 days, then decide whether Certification is right.
Is multi-seat pricing available for agencies?
Yes. Teams of three or more get multi-seat pricing. Each seat earns its own individual credential (the capstone is per-person).
Email matt@reffed.ai to discuss your team — founding-member pricing extends to multi-seat purchases while founding seats remain available.
